Eating healthy is a top priority for many. Fruits and vegetables can be diced, pureed, blended, raw, cooked… and the options go on and on. Following is a list from our panel of expert contributors of the top 10 kitchen items for a healthy harvest kitchen:
1. Vita-Mix Blender:
This high-powered blender is absolutely the best kitchen appliance I have ever purchased. It’s great for instantly grinding nuts and seeds, vegetables and fruits, which are nutrient-dense foods. I could make my pates and green smoothies in a regular blender but it would take much longer. I’m so spoiled by the Vita-Mix – Total luxury and worth the price because it’s so well-made and lasts forever!
2. Magic Bullet Travel Blender:
This blender is perfect to take on a trip because I can eat healthy wherever I am just by blending up my fruits and veggies in it. Wouldn’t live without it!
3. Spiral Slicer:
The Spiral Slicer is a great gadget for the kitchen because you can make pasta from fresh vegetables like zucchini, sweet potato and yellow squash using this device. Kids adore using this fun piece of kitchen equipment which will aid in naturally getting them to like their fruits and veggies. This gadget is not well-known, but once you see it you’ll never know how you lived without it. You can make the same sauces you made for the processed wheat pastas and it will taste even better on the vegetable pasta!
4. Juice Machine:
I own a Breville Juicer and try to make the time for a green juice at least 4 times a week. This machine makes it quick and easy to prepare the green juice from green vegetables with a carrot or apple added for sweetness. The cleaning process is also 1-2-3 EASY. It is also reasonably priced. A Juice Machine must definitely be included in your kitchen appliances in terms of providing optimum nutrition for you and your family.
5. Food Processor:
I have a Villaware Food Processor which is quick and efficient for my kitchen needs. Such a variety of dishes can be prepared using a food processor that it just makes life more interesting. Some of the dishes I love to prepare using the food processor are: Taboule, Hummos, Almond Pate, Gazpacho, Nut and Dried Fruit Cookies for the Holidays, and on and on….
