The Pros: Weight Watcher points are an easy way to track food intake, it's a simple way to get started and start healthy habits. The online nature means no meetings, no embarassing weigh-ins. On-the-Go is a nice way to keep track during the day without being strapped to a pc. Less expensive than the meeting or at-home version of the program. The Cons: Not much guidance and less accountability and support. On-the-Go database somewhat limited and software can be tricky to set up. Not a lot of emphasis on exercise and can be easy to fill your diet with junk if you're not careful. The Skinny: So far so good. On balance, I like Weight Watchers online. Admittedly I've only been at it for a few weeks, so this is a newbie's impression of it. I have felt in control of my dieting, if a little more food-obsessed than normal. The constant counting of points is a little much to take, but it's better than counting calories, and I'm sure at some point it will become more automatic. |
