Hostess 100 - Petite Muffins of Joy E-mail

Hostess 100 calorie packsMuffins get into the 100 calorie snack game

Low point muffins?  Yum!  We've talked about Hostess 100s before.  These are more of the same, but if you're looking for a cakey/muffiny snack that won't break the point bank, these guys are deceptively satisfying.

The Pros:  Delicious.  They are surprisingly filling for as tiny as they are.  Yes, tiny, but flavorful.  Low calorie banana, blueberry, and coffee cake muffins definitely hit the spot and they're only one measly point each!  If you're having a sweet tooth attack in the a.m., these are the ticket.

The Cons:  Did I say small?  Yes, very very small.  And just don't compare them by price for the volume you get.  Think of it as a way to ward off the cakey munchies without paying for it on the scale?  Yes, they're expensive by comparison.  No coupons listed right now but sign up and they'll send them when they have them.  They are a tiny bit dry, and if you like real fruit I'd steer clear of the blueberry and banana.  But with a lovely glass of 1% milk (or skim if you like that kind of thing!), they're just the ticket.

The Skinny:  Low points, packed with deliciousness.  If you have the same cravings for luscious blueberry muffins, get these.  Just hide them from yourself after you have one, because their size says to me, "take two, they're small!".  But they are  satisfying, so we recommend them highly.

The Stats:  Serving size - 3 muffins in a package.

Blueberry: 100 calories, 3 g fat (1.5 saturated, 0 trans), 120 mg sodium, 20 g carbs, 4 g fiber, 1 point.

Banana:  100 calories, 3.5 g fat (1 saturated, 0 trans), 120 mg sodium, 19 g carbs, 4 g fiber, 1 point.

Cinnamon:  100 calories, 3 g fat (1 saturated, 0 trans), 100 mg sodium, 21 g carbs, 5 g fiber, 1 point.
